European tour at stake as Nile Special launches 5-Aside tournament

Nile Special has launched a 5-Aside inter-bar football tournament with the ultimate prize bring a European tour with Cameroon’s football legend Samuel E’to.
The tournament started with a competitive kick around when USPA was humbled 6-1 by the ex-internationals while Nile Special was defeated 2-1 by central region. In the finals, Ex internationals defeated central region 3-2 through spot kicks after both had settled for a 2-2 score line in full time at Kati Kati.
The competition will trudge the whole nation starting at the township level where two teams will qualify to the 32 team regional tier. Four teams will then qualify from each regional level to the national finale that will comprise 16 teams;four from each region.
The winning teams at the national finale will then compete at the 5-Aside tournament in Tanzania where the overall winning team will earn an all expense paid European tour in the company of Samuel E’to.
Francis Nyende, the Nile Special brand manager, said that this is an amateur platform built around friendship and harnessing football as a passion point of many Ugandans.

” It is a social football league meant to bprovide a platform for friends to come together over a beer and also enjoy a kick around but with a huge carrot to it” added Nyende.
The finale will also feature a ladies 5-Aside competition with the winners also making the trip to Tanzania for the Africa 5- Aside.
The fan-centric engagement platform is a continent wide initiative by NBL’s parent company Ab-Inbev.
