The organisers of the Club Tavern Kick Southern Motor Club (SMC) Challenge rally have laid out plans for the forthcoming third round of the National Rally Championship due in Masaka, Lwengo and Kyotera.
The clerk of the course, Jared Kalera believes the smoothest sections will create more fun for the fans while the roughest will call for precaution.
“Four of the six sections are of a fine terrain and I believe most drivers will enjoy the rally. However, I also caution them not to take things lightly because everything in rally is possible.
We urge our fans to stay away from the routes where these cars will pass in order to have an accident free event,” added the soft spoken Kalera.
In a related development, the event manager, Jude Lubega is looking at organising one of the best events in Masaka.
“We have set up a team of over 100 safety officials, medical staff and
security operatives to help curb on any form of unseen circumstances. We want to also extend our appreciations to the sponsors and partners who have extended their support to us to ensure that we can hold a successful event,” added Lubega.
The event will run from April 12 to 14. Of the 187kms earmarked for the rally, 132kms will be competitive while 55kms are for transport.
The event is sponsored by Club Tavern Kick, Worldwide Movers, Coca Cola, Fire and Safety Appliances among others.
