Handball is the first Federation to use the All-Weather Multi-Purpose Sports Court that was constructed for the Police Children School Kibuli last year.
The Federation will host its National Handball league games on the court starting on Saturday April 6,2019.
Former champions Nkumba University women side who returns to the league from a three-year sabbatical open the season against Makerere University.
In the other women fixtures, Prisons face UPDF in the battle of forces while Uganda police who returned after two-year sabbatical face Ndejje University.
In the Men’s category Kyambogo University take on Makerere university while Prisons Spears who protested last year’s league and withdrew before the end, renew their rivalry against UPDF before Police face-off with Defending champion Ndejje University in the last league of the season.
Uganda Federation secretary Saudha Babirye has promised a competitive and better league and also appealed to clubs to respect the organising committee and honour their fixtures.
“We wanted to improve on our organisation of the league. So we out sourced a management committee and we expect a better organised league,” Babirye noted.
She added that unlike the previous year when games were in Namboole and Bombo this year the league will rotate to different venues.
“We have Police Children School Kibuli, Ndejje, Nkumba, Bombo, Kyambogo and Prisons grounds and this will help us spread the sport country wide,” Babirye noted.
