Rally driver and 2018 2WD champion Edwin Kalule will be missed by the motorsport family.
Kalule who suffered serious injuries after an accident in Masaka passed on, on Easter Monday at Nsambya hospital and was laid to rest yesterday at his ancestral area in Mpambire Mpigi district:
Kalule, the 2018 2WD champion was a darling of many and got an accident in the Tavern Kick SMC Challenge Rally in Masaka on April 14.
He was rushed to Masaka Hospital and later transferred Nsambya Hospital but could not overcome the injuries sustained.
Justin Mungoma a navigator and vice president of UMOSPOC club described Kalule as a humble, disciplined character that was a darling of many.
“We do not have the power over accidents, but if we had then we could save our brother. We shall miss him. ”Mungoma said.
His words were echoed further by the vice-president of Uganda Sports Press Association (Uspa) Leon Ssenyange who is also a navigator for Ronald Ssebuguzi.
“Kalule was an old friend whom I came to know in the 90s when we were in high school at St. Henry’s College Kitovu in Nyendo in Masaka and I will miss him,” Ssenyange said.
“Every individual that crossed his path definitely has something nice to say about the social-able man with a big heart to help and earn every little success in his youthful life,” added Ssenyange.
