The National U-20 Rugby team beat Ghana 52-0 on Friday, but must strengthen their defence against Zambia if they are to achieve their target of being promoted to tier B next year.

Coach Brian Makalama’s boys faces Zambia in the final game of the Rugby Africa Barthes Cup today at Kyadondo rugby ground with both teams targeting a win after them all got a win against Ghana.

“We are going to do our best. We have tried to rectify our weak points and we are going to put our best,” Makalama noted after the 52-0 defeat of Ghana.

Man of the match in the Ghana game Desire Ayera, the twin brothers Nicholas Kato and Jeremiah Wasswa who managed two tries each will have to work much harder against the Zambians.

 “There were a number of breakdowns   in rucks and turn overs which we have to avoid against the Zambians,” Makalama added.

Any team that wins today’s game will be promoted to tier B where they will meet teams including Zimbabwe, Morocco and Senegal.

Kenya won tier 1A and will represent Africa in the U-20 World Cup in Brazil from July 9- July 21.

Uganda was relegated to tier 1C after the 2016 tournament in Madagascar for taking a half team in the tournament.
