New debutants Kyetume FC will host sixteen time league winners SC Villa when the league gets underway on the 29th of August.
This was revealed by the Uganda Premier League Manager Paul Kabaikaramu during a media briefing at Namboole.
The league will see seven stadia host the matches after the club licencing board upheld other stadia due to lack of requirements.
The chief executive officer of the Uganda Premier league, Mr Bernard Bainamani, said that most clubs will regain status of their grounds once approved by the licencing board
” We are gearing at having one of the best leagues in Africa.
Our clubs have to respect all the decisions made by the licencing board and if they meet the requirements, all will be good for them to use their respective venues.
We just want to call upon sponsors to join us. We also asks fans to avoid hooliganism, clubs to always make their payments with their players and referees to offer the best officiation this season” added Bernard.
Defending champions KCCA FC will open the season as they entertain the purple sharks Wakiso Giants at Lugogo on Saturday 31st August at Lugogo.
Onduparaka, Mbarara City and Kyetume FC are some clubs that await approval from the club licencing board while Namboole, Njeru, Star times Lugogo, Wankulukuku, Kitende, Kabaka Kyabaggu and Luzira were all given green light to host matches.
The 2019/2020 Uganda Premier League Season will see over 40 games aired live on TV.
