When Arthur Blick Jr lost the Pearl of Africa Rally to Yasin Nasser last month, he did not give-up and vowed to take the fight to Fort portal the home of his in-laws.
Indeed, he lived to his promised as he put up a spirited fight from day one on Saturday to win the highly Competitive Fort Portal rally for the second time.
The first time he won the Fort Portal Rally was in 2015, the year he won the National Rally Championship and this victory also puts him on the NRC title.
“It has been four years since we won a rally and I’m very, very excited about this win,” Blick said after Harugongo section which was the last stage of the rally.
“I have been hungry for this win and this victory belongs to my good lord Jesus Christ,” The Shell Helix fueled driver added.
To win the event that is the fifth round, of the seven the National Rally championship (NRC) events on the calender, Blick navigated my George Ssemakula in a amitsubish Evo10 beat a stiff opposition from Hassan Alwi, Yassin Nasser and teammates Ronald Ssebuguzi and Omar Mayanja.
The crew posted a total time loss of an hour, 12.53minutres, 31seconds ahead of Hassan Alwi (1.13.24) in a Subaru N14 who finished second.
