FUFA names technical team.

Acting FUFA President Justus Mugisha has named the full technical staff for the Cranes.

Mugisha names Abdallah Mubiru as the first Assistant while Livingstone Mbabazi second assistant to head coach Jonathan McKinstry.

The two will serve for six months until FUFA comes up with who takes over on   the job on a permanent basis.

Fred Kajjoba will retain the role of goalkeeping coach and Ayub Balyejjusa will be the new equipment manager of the team.

Former striker Geoffrey Massa will be the team coordinator while Alexander McCarthy will be the fitness coach.

The Cranes is preparing for their games against Burkina Faso away next month and Malawi at home in the 2020 AFCON Qualifiers.

A provisional 25-man squad which has five local based players namely Charles Lukwago, Allan Okello and Nicholas Kasozi from KCCA, defender Halid Lwaliwa and forward Fahad Bayo from Vipers SC has started training.

Motocross battles on

It will be an action packed grueling day as riders battle it out for top Honours in the final round of the mountain Dew National Motocross championship at Victoria race track, Garuga on November,24 2019.

Former national team captain Arthur Blick Jr was optimistic that fans will get value for their money especially in the Junior classes.

” We won’t see much in the MX 1 and MX 2 categories, but we expect a lot of action in the 50peewee, 50, 65, 85, and 125 CC categories,” Blick stated.

He also added that riders will face a tough challenge on the newly designed track which will entertain fans.

The track was redesigned about three weeks ago by Germany expert Jurgen Kuppers.

The changes are geared at helping riders get a new feel of the technical aspects as they eye the 2020 FIM Nations of Africa Motocross Championship to be hosted in Uganda.

Elizabeth Mutamiliza , the Mountain Dew brand manager assured motocross of their commitment to the sport.

” We have set aside sh100,000 for a winner in each class and this we will continue as long as we stay partners to this sport for many more years to come ” Mutamuliza added,

Entebbe Mongers Rugby Club has been boosted ahead of their Uganda Cup quarterfinal game with Toyota Buffaloes on Saturday at the House of Pain ground Entebbe.

The Entebbe based side on Wednesday received a new kit as part of the fulfillment of the Plascon sponsorship to the club.

Early this year in February, the club received a home Kit and sh12.3m package from the paint manufacturing company to help them finalise their home ground.

“This is a boost to us and as a team we are going for a win. Buffaloes may be a strong side, but know that this is a knockout tournament and we shall have no mercy on them,” said Club captain Andrew Olwenyi

Uganda fired up

Uganda started the All Africa Pool tournament in the Chinese eight ball version of the game on high note beating hosts South Africa 5-4 and Zimbabwe 6-3 in th men’s category.

In the lady’s category, Uganda women were untouchable as they beat hosts 7-2 before edging Zimbabwe 5-4 in a tightly contested game.

“I think we are on the course and both teams are focused following the two wins in their opening fixtures,” Uganda Pool Association Publicist Peter Kyobe said.

Heathens who are the Nile special Premier Rugby league defending champions, unveiled their seven new signings.

They include Aaron Ofoyrwoth aka double black and Scott Olwoch from Kenya Harlequins, Jamil Nyango (rhinos), Musasizi Boazfrom Toyota Buffaloes, Joseph Oyet from Dusupay Warriors, and Innocent Gwokto Thomas and Victor Wangobo.
