Despite defeating Burundi 4-0 defeat of Burundi in the opening game of the CECAFA U-17 girls’ soccer tournament Uganda’s head coach Ayub Khalifah is not impressed with the girls’ performance.

Khalifah told USPA media team after that his girls wasted a lot of chances that can be regrettable at a certain stage.

“Yes we won but in the beginning we wasted so many chances. I think we have to go and address that department before our next game,” Khalifah said.

 Juliet Nalukenge managed a hat-trick while Samalie Nakacwa added another in the 70th minute.

In the other games played Tanzania were 5-0 winners against Eriteria with Joyce Meshack putting to the net three goals and her team mate Aisha Hamis added two.

The third game of the day had Kenya whip Djibout 14-0 with Fasila Adhiambo managing four goals, Viola Kalali five goals, Anna Arusi three goals while Lavin Anyango and Dorine Achieng also added a goal each.

Twenty-three goals were scored on match day one which is a sign that the teams’ striking forces are active and lethal.
