Kateete for Fuel Economy Tour

Rally driver Abdul Kateete has joined the 900kms Afrika Kwetu Fuel Economy Tour on November 20-22 in western Uganda region.
The event organized by United Motorsport Club (UMOSPOC) and Enduro Uganda is meant to promote safety on the roads, tourism and environment protection in the country.
“We are going to compete and I want to feel the experience driving such a distance in an ordinary car,” Kateete said.
Other rally drivers in the challenge include Ronald Ssebuguzi, Abdul Ssempebwa, and Rajiv Ruparelia while World Wide Movers, Amputees Network, Rosefoam and Roke telecom are in the team category.
Over 32 crews have confirmed their participation in the event that will have participants on day one cover 340kms from Kampala to Kapeka, Bukomero, Kabwoya Game Reserve and Hoima where they will plant Bamboo trees the next morning.
On day two, they will cover 230kms from Hoima through Kagadi, Semuliki National Game Park and Sempaya Hot springs in Bundibugyo before spending a night in Fort Portal.
They will then finalise the tour by heading to Kasese Kazinga Channel, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishaka Escapements in Bushenyi and end the tour in Mbarara for the prize giving.
