Athlete Philip Kiplimo, basketball star Jimmy Enabu and Uganda Cranes goal grabber Ivan Bogere were this morning Wednesday November2, 2020 at Lugogo National Council of Sports honoured for their excellent performance in the Month of November.

Basketball star Jimmy Enabu was awarded the best basketball player in the Fortebet Realstars sports monthly Awards for his role in the National team (Silverbacks) qualification to the next round of the Afro basketball qualifiers.

Uganda lost to hosts Egypt, but Enabu regrouped his side to beat Cape Verde and Morocco to qualify.

To win the monthly award Enabu beat stiff opposition from teammate Robinson Opong and Ishmail Wainright.


Kiplimo was honoured as the best athlete of November for winning the Tanzania KBC marathon in November.

“This is a great motivation to us athletes. This has charged me and many other athletes to target more medals at the Olympics next year,” Kiplimo said in his appreciation speech.

National Council of Sports Chairman Dr. Donald Rukare commended Realstars administration for the initiative to recognize Ugandan athletes and urged them to work harder.

He added that as a government they are working hard to see that they provide a good working environment to the athletes.

Event CEO Isaac Mukasa thanked the athletes for keeping the Uganda flag flying and urged them to stay focused.
